For my prints I have drawn a selection of designs that have then been made into plates, I then take these plates and turn them into branding irons!

The originals are quite delicate, so I then select my favourite examples to create these printed pieces of art.

With these prints I want to offer an affordable and readily available piece of my blacksmith based artwork.

Heating up the branding iron in my forge fire, I carefully burnt the designs onto paper, trying to obtain the perfect temperature and length of time that it is in contact with the page.

Too short a time and it will not pick up all the detail, too long and it will burn right through and ruin the whole piece!

This design features 3 Ammonite Fossils, inspired by the coast where I grew up, still live and work by today.

With so many fascinating species, some fantastic effects can be achieved!

The heat from the irons react differently with each pattern, creating smoky halos or flashes of flame like lines, radiating out from the brand.

And finally for this design, red hot sparks are allowed to fall onto the paper to add some additional drama and texture!

PACKING - These prints will arrive rolled into a packing tube with acid free tissue paper.

Tubes reduce the risk of your print bring bent in the post, once opened pop your print under some books or heavy, flat weight to help flatten them out if required.

Placing them in a frame of your own choosing, if needed.
